Excellent execution of quality signage does not just happen. It takes experience and a proven well-orchestrated system with a solid team of professionals . No matter the size or scope of a signage project, The Media Works applies our proven system as a standard practice which results in customer satisfaction and signage that works.

Our Design + Build Process
  • 1 - RESEARCH

    Understanding the objectives, site conditions, and sign bylaws along with budget and scheduling concerns.

  • 2 - PLANNING

    Development of the project research into a cohesive direction which solves the project objectives.

  • 3 - CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

    Initial presentation of the results of the research and planning process which illustrates the size, shape, and mounting of each sign type with graphics, material, colour selection, and lighting intent (options provided for subjective customer approval).

  • 4 - FINAL DESIGN

    Delineation of the approved conceptual design which identifies the final dimensions, use of materials, fabrication, graphics, illumination specifications, colour, and mounting.

  • 5 - PRODUCTION DESIGN

    Completed development of the final design for implementation into production. Crucial dimensions are added (from the site survey), section/mounting detail drawings are prepared, and structural engineering (as required).

  • 6 - PERMIT DRAWINGS

    Permit drawings include the drawing exhibits from either the Final Design or Production Drawings, with an emphasis on the submittal standards and requirements of the particular building department, for expeditious sign permit approval (submittal standards are identified and documented during the Research phase).


    * For large design projects, The Media Works offers the option of a Design/Build Agreement. This design agreement provides a list of the sign types to be addressed and a projected cost to complete the afore mentioned standard process as a separate design only agreement. Upon successful award of the production and installation tender, an identified portion of the design agreement is discounted from the Production Contract.
